Booth Tips for a Bright & Inviting Space

Booth Tips for a Bright & Inviting Space

Getting ready for market season? Here are a few booth tips to help you create an inviting, polished space. Remember that additional lighting and floor coverings are required for your booth.

1. Lighting (Required)

The house lighting at our markets is dimmed for ambience, so additional lighting in your booth is required. Good lighting draws attention to your products, creates a welcoming atmosphere, and makes your product come alive. Use warm-white LEDs (2700–3000K) — they’re flattering, bright, and energy efficient.

Use both overall flood lighting and targeted product spotlights for the best results.

  • Overall Lighting – Brightens your full booth. Hang flood or track lights from the pipe & drape to remove shadows and ensure your entire display is evenly lit. Suggested options: Spotlight · Track Lights
  • Product Lighting – Highlights key pieces. Use Clip-on or Table Spotlights aimed directly at products rather than relying only on overhead light.

Safety Tips

2. Floor Covering (Required)

All floor area visible to customers must be covered. Flooring finishes the booth, improves comfort, and reduces slip and trip risks. Foam tiles and rugs are quick, light, and affordable. Floor covering example

  • Foam Floor Tiles — Lightweight, easy to install, and gentle on joints. Foam tiles interlock quickly, making them ideal for temporary or semi-permanent setups. Here are three we like: Option 1, Option 2, Option 3.
  • Carpet — For a softer, quieter feel underfoot, carpet is hard to beat. It also helps define zones within your space. Three options worth considering: Option 1, Option 2, Option 3.
  • Vinyl Roll Flooring — Durable, water-resistant, and simple to cut to size. Vinyl rolls lay flat with minimal fuss and clean up easily. Three solid picks: Option 1, Option 2

Whichever you choose, use carpet tape on all edges and avoid trip lips between tiles and rugs. Lay seams along the traffic direction where possible to keep edges flat.

Pro tip: Anti-fatigue mats behind tables mean happy feet on long days.

3. Add a Flair of Christmas

Shoppers consistently tell us they love a festive atmosphere. Small, tasteful touches go a long way — think cozy rather than cluttered. Keep decor secure, and use battery lights where possible. Christmas booth decor example

  • Ideas: mini trees, garlands on the top rail, wreaths, warm string lights.
  • Avoid glitter and confetti shed; no open flames; keep aisles clear.
  • Budget-friendly: Dollarama, Dollar Tree, craft stores, or reuse past decor.

4. Signage & Backdrop

Clear branding helps customers remember you. Use high-contrast signage, simple typography, and consistent colours. Covering more of the black drape creates a polished, boutique feel.

  • Hang signs from pipe & drape or freestanding frames; keep them taut and level.
  • Hard panels often feel more premium than vinyl; vinyl is fine if wrinkle-free.
  • Add a small price or menu board and a QR code to your website or Instagram.
  • Hide storage bins behind a curtain or under risers to keep the look clean.

5. Stay Within Your Space

Displays, lighting, and signage must remain inside your footprint. Please be mindful of neighbours and fire lanes — management will do random inspections during setup.

  • 10′×10′: approx. 9′9″ × 9′9″
  • 10′×15′: approx. 14′9″ × 9′9″
  • 10′×20′: approx. 19′9″ × 9′9″
  • Booths have an 8 ft height limit — get approval for any overhead hanging lights or displays.
  • Keep totes and packaging inside the booth or remove them after setup.

Bonus Tips

  • Run power neatly along edges; secure everything down with no residue tape.
  • Layer display heights (risers, shelves) so items aren’t all flat.
  • Use clear, consistent price tags to reduce friction.
  • Bring a small cleaning kit (microfibre cloth, lint roller, wipes).
  • Quick end-of-day resets keep your booth fresh for the next morning.
