Signatures is proud to present to you our Spring 2019 lineup, featuring six spectacular shows across Canada! We begin in our hometown – Ottawa – for the 33rd edition of Originals – The Spring Craft Sale, which has become a spring staple for shoppers in our Nation’s Capital. We then take our tour out west, beginning with the stunning Indie Handmade Spring show in St. Albert, followed by stops in the passionate cities of Red Deer and Regina for their respective Our Best to You Spring Craft Sales. We conclude our Western Canadian swing with the one-and-only Butterdome Spring Craft Sale in Edmonton and end the season back in Ontario under the springtime sun at the 34th annual Beaches Arts & Crafts Show in Toronto.

APRIL 4 – 7, 2019 – 33rd ORIGINALS – THE SPRING CRAFT SALE – OTTAWA, ON

Originals – The Spring Craft Sale continues to electrify the Nation’s Capital, giving your show season the jolt it needs to start things off with a boom! Year after year, we continue to see enormous success at the gate – this is, in large part, due to a loyal clientele that knows the Originals brand extremely well and knows that we deliver on their expectations for a top-quality show.

Held in the EY Centre, Ottawa’s dedicated trade show facility, Originals brings in 15,000 shoppers over four days who are equal parts passionate and affluent. Parking is ample and the venue is easily accessible from all parts of the city – it’s an ideal combination of amenities that place this show in the upper echelon. APRIL 12 – 14, 2019 – 3rd INDIE HANDMADE SPRING SHOW – ST. ALBERT, AB

Want to experience something beautiful? We’ve got just the show – Indie Handmade Spring is a veritable feast for the eyes, held in the stunning Enjoy Centre in St. Albert. With natural sunlight engulfing the show floor, and its greenhouse plants surrounding the action, this is a truly unique show experience for exhibitors and show-goers alike.

Shoppers from the Edmonton Capital Region are fervent supporters of Canadian handmade, and the wealthy residents of St. Albert are no exception, as they come in droves to take in the “indie” vibe here; expect upwards of 12,000 shoppers over three days. The Our Best to You brand is deep-rooted in the community, with over a quarter century of shows in the books, and visitors cram our halls knowing to expect a top-quality shopping experience. APRIL 26 – 28, 2019 – 2nd OUR BEST TO YOU SPRING CRAFT SALE – REGINA, SK

Our first springtime foray into the Queen City was a huge success, and we want to keep the momentum going into year two! Always backed by enormous crowds who love supporting Canadian handmade, as well as rock-solid media relations, the Regina edition of Our Best to You takes place in the new state-of-the-art International Trade Centre at Evraz Place, which includes tons of free parking. MAY 3 – 5, 2019 – 13th BUTTERDOME SPRING CRAFT SALE – EDMONTON, AB

It’s Alberta’s favourite for many reasons, but it’s also exhibitors’ favourite because it brings them big crowds, even bigger sales, and an unforgettable show experience. A staple in the Edmonton community for decades, the Butterdome Spring Craft Sale is held in the iconic (and aptly-named) Butterdome building at the University of Alberta, which is easily accessible via all means of transportation.

Over 18,000 loyal shoppers descend upon the show over a three-day stretch, ready to spend big and support the Canadian artisans they know and love. We also invest heavily in digital and traditional ad campaigns to ensure Butterdome remains in the upper tier of Canadian fine craft shows. JUNE 8 – 9, 2019 – 35th BEACHES ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW – TORONTO, ON

A fun-for-the-whole-family affair in the heart of one of Toronto’s most beautiful and historic areas – what’s not to love? The Beaches Arts & Crafts Show is a two-day outdoor show that takes place in the picturesque Kew Gardens, sandwiched between the beaches of Lake Ontario and trendy Queen Street, in Toronto’s affluent Beach neighbourhood. The foot traffic from locals, as well as visits from our diehard fans coming from all corners of the city, make for a busy weekend in the sun. FACTS, DETAILS & HOW TO APPLY

*EMERGING ARTISTS – INDIE HANDMADE SPRING – Signatures is always looking for new talent and we make it easy to try a new show by offering smaller and lower priced booths. This section is for first time exhibitors who have less than 5 years’ professional experience as artisans. The space is a 5′ x 5′ booth, making your booth fee and your stock more manageable. To apply, applicants must submit a fully completed application form indicating a 5′ x 5′ booth and include your artisan related experience on your résumé/statement of your work.

ADVERTISING – PROMOTION – SOCIAL MEDIA – Signatures understands the need for prominent advertising and promotion, and we always deliver thanks to our in-depth expertise, longstanding media relationships, and unmatched national buying power. We guarantee a well-publicized and high-profile event in every market, backed by rock-solid campaigns in print, radio, TV, internet, social media, and email blasts to our annually-updated customer database which exceeds a quarter of a million records. Signatures believes in the strength of collaboration, and highly encourages our artisans to actively engage with our social media channels and content as much as possible, in the lead-up to and during shows. Together we can achieve an amplified digital presence, ensuring maximum exposure to the largest possible audience.

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA – ELIGIBILITY – SELECTION
MARKETPLACES FOR ALL THINGS CANADIAN HANDMADE

Selection – Signatures Shows are juried. The primary basis for acceptance is the quality, originality and craftsmanship of the work to be sold. Acceptance is also based on booth display, product packaging and product categories within each show. Jewellery may not be sold unless specifically juried and accepted. Reproduction aids such as moulds must be the original creation of the applicant.
Eligibility – You must be the designer and the creator of the work to be sold. Only work produced in Canada by you or under your direct supervision will be considered. Commercially manufactured products, goods bought for resale, goods made from commercial kits or materials are not permitted. Products represented by dealers, franchise operations, unfinished goods, craft supplies and kits or do-it-yourself materials will not be permitted.
Exclusivity Clause – Signatures Shows are extensively promoted and advertised as unique and exclusive events. We embrace artisans who understand and believe in our philosophy of protecting the exclusive nature of the shows. Upon acceptance, part of your contract (with the exception of the Beaches Show) includes an exclusivity clause: “Exhibitors may not participate, nor have their product available in any craft, handmade, art or similar type show larger than 75 exhibitors (excluding shows produced by Signatures Shows or local farmers markets), 45 days before and during the dates of the event and within a 50 kilometre radius of the show.” Accepted applicants must agree to and abide by our exclusivity clause.
Acceptance – If you are successful in your application you will receive your letter of acceptance and show contract by email to the address you have indicated in your application form. The contract will indicate your accepted booth size and type and the product for which you have been accepted to display and sell. You must select and initial a payment schedule, include the payment method details, agree to the Terms and Conditions and Exclusivity Clause, sign, date and return by the contract due date.

SIGNATURES ALL-IN PRICING – no hidden costs! (Originals, Indie Handmade, Our Best To You Red Deer and Regina and Butterdome) Our exhibit price is an all-inclusive package: Included is 8’ high booth draping (back & sides), electrical power, show promotional literature, show programme listing, overnight security, descriptive artisan information and links to artisan websites on our individual show websites, pre-show media opportunities, in-show artisan promotions, discounted hotel rates, discounted shipping rates and free material handling when using the official show carrier and priority consideration for acceptance into all of our shows.

SIGNATURES ALL-IN PRICING – no hidden costs! (Beaches) Our exhibit price is an all-inclusive package: Included are overnight security, show promotional literature, artisan gallery and links to artisan website on our show website, media opportunities and priority consideration for acceptance into all our shows.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES – INSTRUCTIONS
SUBMIT AN ONLINE APPLICATION. 
The following supporting materials are required:
1) Product Images/Photos – A minimum of five clear, high resolution, close-up images of the work you want to sell at the show(s).  These images are used to jury your work and if accepted, to promote your work on our websites and possibly, in our advertising campaigns. There is a direct co-relation between the quality of the images submitted and their chance of being used in our ad campaign(s). Attach required images and documents with your online application form and upload.
2) Booth Design – A clear image of a recent booth display or detailed diagram of your display. The presentation and professionalism of your display is an important part of our jurying and a major consideration of booth placement in the show(s) if you are accepted.
3) Studio Image – An image of you working in your studio or workshop.
4) Biography – A biography detailing your background, design training and show experience.
5) Craft/Art Statement – A statement on your work: what inspired you to create it, how long you have been doing it, the production process, how many people assist you and their roles in the production and your products’ price range.
6) Deposit -$200 credit card deposit per show is required with the application. Applications received without deposit(s) will not be processed.
NOTE – If your application is accepted and a contract is issued to you, your deposit will be processed. If you withdraw, cancel or refuse the space after a contract is issued, your deposit is non-refundable.

The initial jurying and selection of artisans will begin on September 1, 2018. The process takes about 4-6 weeks to complete. All applicants will be notified of their status by email. Applications received after September 1, 2018 will be reviewed and considered and selection will be based on remaining space and category availability.

Exhibitors Info – Prior to the show, you will receive an email containing your username and password to access the Exhibitor Login Area at www.signatures.ca. In this Login Area, you will be able to download the Exhibitor Guide that contains specific show info, move-in details, shipping info, hotel details, display requirements, show suppliers’ order forms, promotional show material and any other info necessary to have a successful exhibiting experience.
