SEPTEMBER 22 – 23, 2018 – TOUCH OF TALENT CRAFT SALE – SHERWOOD PARK, AB
We begin our Fall 2018 season in one of our strongest markets: the greater Edmonton area. The Touch of Talent Craft Sale takes place in the flourishing suburb of Sherwood Park, at the lovely Millennium Place, where parking is ample and visitors come prepared to shop. Our sophomore show in ‘Fort Mac’ is sure to garner plenty of buzz! The first-ever edition of the Mosaic Craft Show was the talk of the town, as visitors came in droves and spread the word all over social media. We anticipate an even better showing this year, as we continue to establish ourselves as the premier shopping event in a city that’s chock-full of big spenders. The final stop of our fall tour is a monster show four-and-a-half decades strong! The Originals Christmas Craft Sale is held over 10 days, welcoming more than 25,000 visitors who have come to know and love this show as one of Ottawa’s premier holiday markets. FACTS, DETAILS & HOW TO APPLY

*EMERGING ARTISTS – Signatures is always looking for new talent and we make it easy to try new shows by offering smaller and lower priced booths in six select shows – Signatures Ottawa, Indie Handmade, Butterdome Craft Sale, Festival of Crafts and Our Best to You Red Deer and Regina. This section is for first time exhibitors who have less than 5 years professional experience as artisans. The space is a 5’ x 5’ booth, making your booth fee and your stock more manageable. To apply, applicants must submit a fully completed application form indicating a 5’ x 5’ booth and include your artisan related experience on your résumé/statement of your work.

ADVERTISING – PROMOTION – SOCIAL MEDIA – Signatures understands the need for prominent advertising and promotion, and we always deliver thanks to our in-depth expertise, longstanding media relationships, and unmatched national buying power. We guarantee a well-publicized and high-profile event in every market, backed by rock-solid campaigns in print, radio, TV, internet, social media, and email blasts to our annually-updated customer database which exceeds a quarter of a million records. Signatures believes in the strength of collaboration, and highly encourages our artisans to actively engage with our social media channels and content as much as possible, in the lead-up to and during shows. Together we can achieve an amplified digital presence, ensuring maximum exposure to the largest possible audience.

SHOW PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE – We are the most accomplished and experienced show producer in Canada. Having produced over 370 shows, we know what it takes to ensure a smooth running event. We are a team of experienced show managers and staff committed to serving the best interests of the exhibitors and shopping public. Our goal is to provide a professional, friendly atmosphere for all who attend our shows. Be confident that with Signatures you will have a problem-free, enjoyable and profitable experience.

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA – ELIGIBILITY – SELECTION
MARKETPLACES FOR ALL THINGS CANADIAN HANDMADE
Selection – Our shows are juried. Our primary basis for acceptance is the quality, originality and craftsmanship of the work to be sold. Acceptance is also based on booth display, product packaging and product categories within each show so that no one category is over-weighted. Applicants with a focus in one main product category will receive preference over applicants having multiple product lines. Applications whose main product category is not jewellery, may not sell jewellery products unless specifically juried and accepted. Reproduction aids such as moulds used in jewellery or ceramics must be created by the applying artisan.
Eligibility – You must be the designer and the creator of the work to be sold. Only work produced in Canada by you or under your direct supervision will be considered. Commercially manufactured products or work produced outside Canada are not eligible.
IMPORTANT – Our Exclusivity Clauses – Signatures Shows are extensively promoted and advertised as unique and exclusive events. We embrace artisans who understand and believe in our philosophy of protecting the exclusive nature of the shows. Upon acceptance, part of your contract will contain an exclusivity clause(s). All accepted applicants will be required to agree to these.
Site/Facility Exclusivity – This clause prohibits accepted Exhibitors from participating in any craft, handmade, art or similar type show larger than 70 exhibitors in the same location, exhibit facility and/or exhibit grounds/park, 45 days before, during and 45 days after the dates of the show.
Butterdome Craft Sale Exclusivity – Butterdome Exhibitors may not participate in any craft, handmade, art or similar type show larger than 70 exhibitors (excluding shows produced by Signatures Shows or local farmers markets), 30 days before, during and 30 days after the dates of our event and within a 50 kilometre radius of the show.

SIGNATURES ALL-IN PRICING (no hidden costs!) Our exhibit price is an all-inclusive package: Included is 8’ high booth draping (back & sides), electrical power, show promotional literature, show programme listing, overnight security, descriptive artisan information and links to artisan websites on our individual show websites, pre-show media opportunities, in-show artisan promotions, discounted hotel rates, discounted shipping rates and free material handling when using the official show carrier and priority consideration for acceptance into all of our shows.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES – INSTRUCTIONS

Both application methods require the following supporting materials:
1) Product Images/Photos – A minimum of five clear, high resolution, close-up images of the work you want to sell at the show(s).  These images are used to jury your work and if accepted, to promote your work on our websites and possibly, in our advertising campaigns. There is a direct co-relation between the quality of the images submitted and their chance of being used in our ad campaign(s).
Online Applications: Attach required images and documents with your online application form and upload.
By Mail: On a USB stick or by email to applications@signatures.ca with your name and company name in the subject line.
2) Booth Design – A clear image of a recent booth display or detailed diagram of your display. The presentation and professionalism of your display is an important part of our jurying and a major consideration of booth placement in the show(s) if you are accepted.
3) Studio Image – An image of you working in your studio or workshop.
4) Biography – A biography detailing your background, design training and show experience.
5) Craft/Art Statement – A statement on your work: what inspired you to create it, how long you have been doing it, the production process, how many people assist you and their roles in the production and your products’ price range.
6) Deposit -$200 deposit per show is required with the application. Applications received without deposit(s) will not be processed. Method of payment for deposits are:
– Cheque, payable to Signatures Shows (include separate cheques for each show applied) – cashed only if accepted. This option is only available with printed and mail-in applications.
– Credit card (Visa or Mastercard) – include info on application form – processed only if accepted.
NOTE – If your application is accepted and a contract is issued to you, your deposit will be cashed or processed. If you withdraw, cancel or refuse the space after a contract is issued, your deposit is non-refundable.

The initial jurying and selection of artisans will begin on March 1, 2018. The process takes about 4-6 weeks to complete. All applicants will be notified of their status by email. Applications received after April 15, 2018 will be reviewed and considered and selection will be based on remaining space and category availability.

ACCEPTANCE
If you are successful in your application you will receive your letter of acceptance and show contract by email to the address you have indicated in your application form. Please read these documents carefully. The contract will indicate the booth size and type for which you have been accepted. We attempt to accommodate your original request but this is not always possible and an alternative size may be contracted. The products that you are accepted to display and sell will also be indicated. Only the products that were submitted for jurying and indicated in the show contract will be allowed at the show. You must sign, date and return the contract by the indicated due date. You must also select one of our payment options as indicated in the contract and include post-dated payments as outlined.
Exhibitor Info – Prior to the show, you will receive an email containing your username and password to access the Exhibitor Login Area at www.signatures.ca. In this Login Area, you will be able to download the Exhibitor Guide that contains specific show info, move-in details, shipping info, hotel details, display requirements, show suppliers’ order forms, promotional show materials and any other info necessary to have a successful exhibiting experience. Please review the info in the Login Area well in advance of the shows.
